About Me

Jennifer Greggs

Hello!

Hello, I’m Jen. My blog is about sustainable fashion and secondhand style.

Why I blog:

I used to practically live in Zara, and my desk was laden with ASOS deliveries.

In 2020, I decided to conduct a year-long experiment by buying only secondhand clothing all year. I expected it to be a slog; it wasn’t! I discovered that building a stylish pre-owned wardrobe was easier and more joyful than I could have imagined.

I wanted to make it easier for other people to shop either secondhand or more sustainably. I hope to inspire others to discover that this can be fun and affordable.

Who this blog is for:

I write this blog for other people who love clothes and are interested in being sustainably stylish. Lots of people are aware that fast fashion is bad for the planet, but moving away from it can be really hard.

There’s lots of content out there about sustainability and fashion, but some of it feels quite elitist (lots of £200 jumpers), or a bit preachy. I’m aiming to provide content that’s realistic and practical for most fashion lovers. I discuss issues including privilege and sustainable fashion, where to find the best pre-owned pieces, and how to find sustainable clothes you can afford.

I have a master of science degree in Environment and Sustainability, and currently work at Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership. This isn’t an academic-style blog, though!

I hope this blog will inspire you to choose secondhand and sustainable style, whatever your budget.

Thanks for reading

Jen
